- Selkirk product number: 204216

How an Offset Works
A pair of elbows changes the chimney direction and then returns it toward vertical. The amount of offset depends on the straight chimney length installed between the two elbows. Because an offset changes the load and geometry of the chimney, support requirements become especially important.
Keep chimney runs as vertical as practical and use offsets only when the structure requires them.

Important Installation Note
Selkirk literature notes that 4-inch elbow offsets require support and that the 45-degree elbow is a specialized component. Some Selkirk technical literature also identifies 45-degree elbows as not individually listed components. Before using this pair, verify that the configuration is permitted for your appliance, jurisdiction, chimney height, and current Selkirk installation instructions.
Do not assume that a chimney-system listing automatically makes every possible offset configuration acceptable. The appliance manual, chimney instructions, support requirements, and local authority having jurisdiction all apply.
For current Selkirk technical documents, see the Selkirk Ultra-Temp resource page.
